Prince Harry Faces Criticism Over Possible Invictus Games Family Appearance

Royal author claims Duke of Sussex may use family moment to strengthen royal image

Prince Harry has faced criticism from royal author Tom Bower, who claims the Duke of Sussex may be trying to use his family to rebuild his royal image.

The author suggested that Harry could appear with Meghan Markle and their children at the upcoming Invictus Games, arguing the move might be aimed at restoring some of the royal status he once held.

Bower, known for his book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, claimed the Duke of Sussex appears eager to use the moment to reinforce his connection to the royal institution.

Reports recently suggested that Harry would like to spend part of the summer at Sandringham with his father, King Charles III, a development that has fuelled speculation about possible family appearances at royal-linked events.

Speaking to The Express, Bower argued that Harry may be hoping to appear with Meghan Markle and their children at the July Invictus Games, claiming such a move could help “revalidate” his standing.

The comments come amid renewed tensions between the Sussexes and the author. Harry and Meghan previously issued a strong statement through their spokesperson criticising Bower and rejecting claims made about them in his latest book.

The couple accused him of going beyond normal criticism, saying he had crossed the line into personal fixation. Their statement also argued that many of his claims rely on speculation rather than direct knowledge.

They added that those looking for reliable facts should seek information elsewhere, while those interested in dramatic conspiracy-style narratives would know where to find them.
