Royal commentator says reconciliation looks unlikely if criticism of the monarchy continues
Prince Harry has been dealt another difficult setback amid ongoing hopes of reconnecting with his cancer-stricken father, King Charles.
According to a royal commentator, the chances of Harry and Meghan Markle returning to the royal fold appear extremely slim. The remarks came during a lively discussion on TalkTV, where host Mark Dolan raised the question of whether the couple could ever find their way back into the royal family.
Commentator Hilary Fordwich gave a blunt response, saying the answer would be “100 per cent definitely no” if the couple continue publicly criticising the monarchy.
She argued that rebuilding trust would be impossible while criticism of the royal family continues. In her view, attacking the institution while hoping for reconciliation sends conflicting signals and makes it harder for relations to improve.
Fordwich also suggested that the damage to trust may already be beyond repair. She explained that trust has to be rebuilt over time through consistent actions, adding that once it is broken it can be extremely difficult to restore.
Her comments come shortly after confirmation that King Charles is expected to travel to the United States for an official state visit. However, reports indicate that the monarch is unlikely to meet Harry or the couple’s children while he is in the country.
The development has added further uncertainty to any hopes of a personal reunion between father and son, leaving questions about whether relations within the royal family can ever truly heal.
