Protesters Target Queen Elizabeth Display with Fresh Allegations

Anti-monarchy group replaces exhibition posters in London with critical messages

An anti-monarchy campaign group has stirred controversy in London after replacing posters from a public display honouring the late Queen Elizabeth with messages questioning her role in the controversy surrounding her son, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Activists from the group Republic shared footage of the action on social media, showing posters carrying the question: “What did she know?” in reference to allegations linked to Andrew.

In the video post, the group claimed the late monarch had helped settle claims brought by one of Andrew’s accusers. They argued that the Queen should not be remembered only through the positive image often presented by royal public relations campaigns.

Republic has repeatedly organised demonstrations against the monarchy, particularly since Andrew’s association with the late American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein became public.

Earlier this year, Andrew was briefly detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was released shortly afterwards, but authorities have said the matter remains under investigation.

The controversy surrounding Andrew has continued to affect his standing within the royal family. Last year, King Charles removed his remaining royal roles and asked him to leave Royal Lodge in Windsor following ongoing scrutiny of his links to Epstein.
