Monarch receives warm reception during first solo trip to British Overseas Territory
King Charles III was met with a notably warm reception during his visit to Bermuda, marking his first trip to a British Overseas Territory since becoming sovereign.
Buckingham Palace shared a short video of the visit on its official Instagram account, alongside a message expressing gratitude on behalf of the King. The caption read, “What a wonderfully warm welcome to Bermuda! Thank you to all who came out to say hello.”
The message also highlighted a formal ceremony held in King’s Square, where Charles was greeted by the Royal Bermuda Regiment and honoured with a traditional 21-gun salute.
Earlier, the palace confirmed the King’s schedule for the day, noting that the visit was a significant milestone as his first official engagement in a British Overseas Territory since ascending the throne.
The trip followed closely after Charles and Queen Camilla concluded their four-day state visit to the United States. The royal couple had also made a brief stop at the White House, where they bid farewell to Donald Trump before departing.
