Buckingham Palace shares update on King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Belfast visit

King Charles III and Queen Camilla kicked off their annual visit to Northern Ireland with a celebration of Irish culture in Belfast.

Buckingham Palace shared a video from the outing on the royal family’s official Instagram account, showing the couple receiving a lively musical welcome at Thompson Dock.

During the visit, Charles and Camilla watched performances highlighting traditional Irish music, dance and culture ahead of this year’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann festival.

In the caption accompanying the clip, the palace described it as “a lively welcome to Belfast” and noted that the famous festival, founded in 1951, will take place in Belfast for the first time this August.

The royal couple also visited Titanic Distillers, where they learned more about the whisky-making process inside the restored Edwardian pumphouse linked to the launch of the RMS Titanic.

The update comes shortly after King Charles hosted Catherine Connolly at Buckingham Palace earlier this week. A photograph released by the palace showed the pair shaking hands and posing together during the meeting.
