Decision signals support for York sisters as their parents face continued scrutiny
King Charles has made it clear that his nieces, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, will retain their royal titles, even as their parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, remain under pressure linked to the Epstein scandal.
The decision comes after Andrew lost his honours and the couple faced renewed embarrassment following developments tied to the case. Reports also suggest they were asked to vacate Royal Lodge, adding to the strain surrounding the family.
Despite this, the King appears to be drawing a clear line between the York sisters and their parents’ situation. The palace reinforced that stance in a recent social media post, referring to Eugenie by her full title, “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie,” in what many see as a deliberate message to critics.
Alongside that, the palace shared personal news from Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The couple are expecting their third child later this summer. Their two sons, August and Ernest, are said to be excited about welcoming a new sibling.
The announcement also confirmed that the King has been informed and is pleased with the news, suggesting that, despite the surrounding controversy, Eugenie remains firmly supported within the royal fold.
