Commentators claim Duchess of Sussex is relying on royal connections to protect her public image
Meghan Markle has come under fresh criticism from commentators who claim the Duchess of Sussex continues to rely on her royal ties to remain in the spotlight.
The debate follows Meghan’s recent return from what some critics described as a “quasi-royal” tour of Australia alongside Harry.
Speaking on the Daily Express
podcast, Mark Dolan claimed royal insiders believe Meghan is eager to rebuild links with the Royal Family.
“My royal insiders are telling me that she's all out now to get back to the UK to reconnect with King Charles and to effectively be Princess Meghan again,” he said.
Meanwhile, commentator Samara Gill strongly criticised the Duchess, accusing her of seeking attention through what she described as a “trashy ploy”.
Speaking to Sky News Australia
, Gill said: “You haven't earned that, Meghan. Just drop it. It's never going to be you.”
Critics have also accused Meghan of repeatedly shifting her public image and media strategy in recent years.
Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 before relocating to California with their son, Prince Archie. The couple later publicly accused the Royal Family of racism towards their son during a series of high-profile interviews.
The Duke and Meghan Markle now live in California, where they are raising their two children, including daughter Princess Lilibet.
