Duchess of Sussex shares unseen wedding moments as fans question whether gesture was aimed at monarch
Meghan Markle has sparked fresh speculation about her relationship with King Charles after sharing a series of wedding photos to mark her eighth anniversary with Harry.
Meghan and Harry married in Windsor on May 19, 2018, and are now parents to two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
To celebrate the occasion, Meghan posted several images on Instagram, including moments from their wedding reception where she and Harry were seen dancing together.
In another post, Meghan shared a carousel of photographs from the ceremony at Windsor Castle. The collection included a candid image of the newlyweds shortly after exchanging vows, along with a behind-the-scenes moment from their official wedding portrait session.
The Duchess captioned the post: “Eight years ago today.”
One of the photos also featured King Charles, prompting royal watchers to speculate that Meghan may have been extending an olive branch to the monarch amid ongoing tensions within the Royal Family.
Charles famously stepped in to support Meghan during the wedding after her father, Thomas Markle, withdrew from attending the ceremony. The then-Prince of Wales escorted Meghan for part of her walk down the aisle in a moment widely praised at the time.
Since their wedding, the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle have stepped back from royal duties, relocated to California, and become increasingly distant from senior royals, including William and Catherine.
King Charles has not publicly shared a message for the couple on their anniversary.
