Miley Cyrus celebrates emotional career milestone surrounded by family and friends
Miley Cyrus became emotional as she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, marking a major milestone in her career.
During the ceremony, the Flowers singer struggled to hold back tears while thanking the people closest to her for supporting her throughout her journey.
“To my family, my future family, parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators, thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears, and then facing them with me,” Miley said in her speech.
“Today is something that I'll never forget and I'm always going to cherish. I love you all so much, thank you,” she added.
The singer also referenced her song Walk of Fame, which includes the lyric, “You'll live forever,” while reflecting on what the honour means to her.
“This star somehow represents immortality, and although I love the lyric, the fact that I won't is what creates the urgency that sets my heart on fire,” Miley shared.
She continued by describing the recognition as something earned through years of dedication rather than fame alone.
“What feels so special to me about this star is that it's an accumulation of devotion. A star isn't something that you win like a seasonal game. It's not something that you can chase or collect. It's not something you make the next record for,” she explained.
Miley also described the achievement as “fierce and fun and fabulous.”
The 33-year-old star was joined at the ceremony by her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and fiancé Maxx Morando.
Among the celebrity guests in attendance were Donatella Versace and Anya Taylor-Joy.
