Prince Andrew is reportedly struggling to find direction following his dramatic departure from public royal life, with one royal expert claiming his days are now largely spent gaming and using flight simulators.
The former Duke of York, who stepped back from royal duties amid controversy surrounding his links to Jeffrey Epstein, is said to be living a far more isolated life in Norfolk.
Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, royal author Andrew Lownie claimed Andrew has found it difficult to adjust after losing the structure that once came with royal service.
“I think he's someone who needs discipline,” Lownie said, adding that Andrew benefited from the focus and routine provided during his time in the armed forces.
According to the royal expert, the absence of that structure has left Andrew drifting through his daily life, much of it centred around flight simulator games linked to his former pilot training.
Lownie also claimed the former royal remains deeply interested in aviation simulations, particularly virtual aircraft landings, which reflect his long-standing fascination with flying.
Prince Andrew has largely remained out of the public eye since stepping away from official royal duties, while his brother, King Charles III, continues efforts to reshape the monarchy’s public image.
