Earl Spencer returns to Althorp after US wedding to Cat Jarman as treasured artwork comes back from London inspection
Charles Spencer has shared that a treasured historic portrait has finally returned to Althorp House following an expert inspection in London.
The 61-year-old uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry revealed on Saturday that the early 17th-century artwork is once again back at the Spencer family estate in Northamptonshire.
According to Earl Spencer, the portrait features a French aristocrat of royal blood who stood beside King Charles I during his wedding ceremony. The nobleman is also pictured with his faithful Talbot dog.
The update comes shortly after Spencer returned from the United States following his marriage to Norwegian archaeologist Cat Jarman.
Earlier this week, he confirmed he was back at Althorp Estate, the historic family home where Princess Diana is buried.
Charles Spencer and Cat Jarman tied the knot last Friday in Arizona. The couple later shared striking wedding photographs taken in front of Sedona’s famous Cathedral Rock, surrounded by the region’s red hills.
