Prince William shared a heartfelt message of support for England’s football team and staff during a visit to St George’s Park ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The official England team account on X posted a video on Wednesday showing the Prince of Wales meeting members of the backroom staff and coaching team before the squad’s departure for the tournament.
During the visit, William met England head coach Thomas Tuchel, Football Association chief football officer Dan Ashworth, and technical director John McDermott at the national football centre.
Tuchel announced his 26-man England squad last week, with the team set to fly to Florida on Monday before beginning their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 17.
Addressing staff members behind the scenes, William thanked them for the work they do away from the spotlight.
“I just wanted to take the opportunity to see the team behind the team today, and to say thank you and good luck to all of you guys who don’t get as much acknowledgement or credit as you deserve,” he said.

The future king praised the efforts of the support staff, saying the players’ success is built on the foundations created by the wider team.
William also acknowledged the challenge awaiting England at the tournament.
“It’s not going to be an easy tournament as you well know. It’s going to be one of the hardest World Cups there’s probably been in the modern era, but I have no doubt you’ll rise to the occasion and deliver on all the things that you do so brilliantly,” he added.
