Prince William shares fun anecdote about life with Catherine after her cancer recovery

Prince William has opened up about one ongoing “battle” at home with Catherine following her growing focus on early childhood development.

The Prince of Wales praised his wife during an appearance on the “Heart Breakfast” radio programme while discussing her recent visit to Reggio Emilia in Italy. William said he has been impressed by how dedicated Catherine has become to studying early years education and child development.

“She wanted to go and do lots of research,” William shared during the interview. “She spends God knows how much time now looking through all the paperwork. She’s a proper pro on early years.”

The future king then joked that their bedroom has become filled with documents and reading materials because of Catherine’s passion for the subject.

“Most evenings I’m fighting to get past all the paperwork she’s got lined up ready to read,” he laughed.

During the conversation, Heart Breakfast co-host Amanda Holden admitted she was surprised to hear Catherine speaking Italian during the trip. William responded with another light-hearted remark, saying: “I didn’t actually either. She must’ve dusted that off.”

Catherine’s recent visit to Italy has reportedly strengthened her growing role within the Royal Family as senior royals continue taking on heavier responsibilities.

Former palace secretary Ailsa Anderson praised the Princess of Wales while speaking to People magazine, calling her “glamorous,” “beautiful,” and also “warm and approachable.”

“As Queen Elizabeth used to say, you have to be seen to be believed,” Anderson explained.

She also suggested that William and Catherine are stepping up their public duties following King Charles’ recent international engagements.

Royal author Catherine Mayer added that the younger generation of royals are increasingly carrying the weight of the monarchy.

“Princess Anne and the other senior working royals are all stretched thin and none of them are young,” Mayer said. “William and Catherine carry the whole thing.”
