Princess Anne ‘stretched thin’ as pressure grows on senior royals

Hardest-working royal continues duties amid concerns over exhaustion

Princess Anne is reportedly feeling the pressure of an increasingly demanding workload as the Royal Family continues to operate under King Charles’ slimmed-down monarchy.

The Princess Royal, long regarded as one of the monarchy’s hardest-working members, is said to be carrying a heavy burden alongside other senior royals who are also facing exhaustion from ongoing public duties.

Author Catherine Mayer, whose upcoming book Divide and Rule: Royal Women and Their Battles explores tensions within the monarchy, claimed the workload has left senior royals overwhelmed.

“Princess Anne and the other senior working royals are all stretched thin — and none of them are young,” Mayer told People.

Royal expert Russell Myers also highlighted the growing importance of Catherine to the future of the monarchy, saying her return to public life comes at a crucial time.

“Catherine is undoubtedly a central force in the monarchy’s popularity and ability to achieve its goals and move forward. There is no better time for her to return,” Myers said.

Former royal secretary Ailsa Anderson echoed that sentiment while praising Catherine’s public appeal and influence within the Royal Family.

“She is our future queen. As Queen Elizabeth used to say, you have to be seen to be believed. She is glamorous, beautiful, warm and approachable,” Anderson explained.

She also suggested that following King Charles’ successful visit to the United States, Prince William and Catherine are stepping up their royal presence.

“It is a clear signal she is back in business,” Anderson added.
