Queen Camilla has been praised for the strength of her personality and deep understanding of the monarchy’s survival.
The Queen, widely regarded as King Charles’ closest supporter, is said to understand the importance of resilience within the Royal Family.
Author Christopher Wilson, who wrote A Greater Love—Charles and Camilla, compared Camilla’s public manner to that of the late Queen Mother.
“She’s every bit as convincing as the old Queen Mother was when it comes to putting on a sweet smile and saying just the right thing to put people at their ease,” Wilson explained.
However, he also suggested that Camilla possesses a tougher side that she prefers to keep away from public view.
“But again, like the Queen Mum, there’s a ruthless streak to Camilla which she takes care to keep hidden from view,” he added.
Wilson went on to say that Camilla understands the monarchy is built on endurance and adaptability.
“Monarchy is about survival, and Camilla understands that,” he said. “She’s read the history books and knows how, when the House of Windsor was brought to its knees in 1936 with the abdication of King Edward VIII, the Queen Mother helped strengthen the resolve of her reluctant husband.”
