Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Excluded From Royal Garter Day Event

Former royal will not take part in this year’s traditional Order of the Garter celebrations amid ongoing fallout

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly been excluded from this year’s Garter Day celebrations, marking another step back from royal events.

The annual ceremony, held at Windsor Castle, is one of the most important dates in the royal calendar. According to reports, he will not be present at any part of the proceedings, including private elements of the event.

The move comes months after he was removed from the Order of the Garter and stripped of remaining royal honours following renewed attention around his past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

A source quoted by UK media said recent royal events have been difficult for him, suggesting he has grown accustomed to watching major family occasions from a distance. The same source claimed he is feeling increasingly isolated.

Although he had already been barred from participating in the public procession since 2022, he was previously still able to attend certain private aspects of Garter Day through his membership in the Order. That access has now ended completely.

His removal from the order last year marked a major turning point, formally closing his participation in one of the oldest chivalric traditions linked to the monarchy.
