Rupert Finch, who reportedly dated Catherine during their time at St Andrews, attended the royal family gathering in the Cotswolds
Catherine, Princess of Wales, reportedly crossed paths with a former boyfriend at the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling in the Cotswolds on Saturday.
According to reports, Rupert Finch was among the guests attending the ceremony at All Saints Church, where Catherine, Prince William and several members of the Royal Family were present.
Finch, now 47, is said to have dated Catherine for around a year in 2001 while both were studying at University of St Andrews. At the time, he was a fourth-year student pursuing a legal career.
Following university, Finch completed his legal training at the College of Law in Guildford and went on to build his professional career.
Reports have previously linked their relationship to Catherine's early years at St Andrews, before her romance with Prince William became public.
Despite their past relationship, Catherine and Finch are believed to have remained on friendly terms over the years. Finch was among the guests invited to the couple's wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.
Finch married Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs in June 2013. The couple share three children: Georgia, Cienna and India Grace Albertine.
Neither Finch nor Kensington Palace has publicly commented on reports surrounding his past relationship with Catherine.
