King Charles Arrives at Clarence House Ahead of Trooping the Colour Celebrations

The monarch prepares for the annual military ceremony marking his official birthday in London

King Charles III arrived at Clarence House on Friday as preparations continued for Trooping the Colour, the annual event celebrating the monarch's official birthday.

Footage captured the King's motorcade entering the royal residence on The Mall in the City of Westminster, London, ahead of the highly anticipated ceremony.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace announced that the King, serving as Colonel-in-Chief, and Queen Camilla, as Colonel, presented two new Colours to the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards.

Trooping the Colour is a longstanding military tradition held each year to mark the sovereign's official birthday, featuring a display of ceremonial pageantry and participation from members of the Armed Forces.

Although Charles was born on November 14, 1948, he observes an official birthday during the summer, following a custom adopted by several British monarchs to take advantage of more favourable weather for public celebrations.
