King Charles recently paid a special visit to Grimsby, spending the day meeting local residents, community leaders, and organisations working to strengthen the town's future.
The British royal family's official Instagram account shared a collection of photos from the visit on Thursday, highlighting the monarch's interactions with business owners, workers, and members of the local community.
According to the Palace, the visit focused on celebrating groups and individuals helping to create new opportunities across Grimsby.
“The King has spent the day in Grimsby, meeting local leaders, organisations and businesses helping to shape the future of the town and create opportunities to benefit the community,” the Palace wrote.
During his visit, Charles stopped at Horizon Youth Zone, where he met young people taking part in after-school programmes designed to build confidence and develop important social skills.
The King also visited The CARE hub, a community organisation that provides housing and support services to local residents. Later, he travelled to Blundell Park, home of Grimsby Town Football Club, one of England’s oldest professional football clubs.
At the stadium, Charles met members of the Our Future collective, a national charity that works with communities in Grimsby to encourage leadership, strengthen relationships, and support citizen-led initiatives.
Despite heavy rain throughout the day, local well-wishers turned out to greet the monarch. Acknowledging the challenging weather, the King warmly told those waiting outside, “I’m so sorry you got so wet.”
