Catherine and Prince William are often described as a united team when it comes to family decisions, but reports suggest they may have differing views about the future of their eldest child, Prince George.
According to a source quoted by Closer, the Prince of Wales is becoming increasingly aware that George is reaching an age when preparations for his future role as monarch may need to become more structured.
“As a future monarch, William is very conscious that George is at an age where his life will start becoming more structured toward that,” the insider claimed.
The source added that changes could be on the horizon following the summer, saying there is an understanding that George's path will gradually evolve as he grows older. However, discussions about what comes next have reportedly led to some difficult conversations between his parents.
The reported difference centres on how George should balance his royal responsibilities with a normal childhood.
According to the insider, William is focused on ensuring that George's future role is approached carefully and smoothly, while Catherine is said to be keen to preserve as much of her son's ordinary childhood as possible.
Despite any reported differences, the source stressed that life at home remains largely unchanged for the young royal.
“At home, he’s still just George,” the insider said, adding that he enjoys spending time outdoors, playing with his siblings and taking part in everyday childhood activities.
The source noted that Catherine especially values these moments, recognising how quickly her children's younger years are passing.
