The pop icon teases the long-awaited follow-up to her 2005 dance classic during a surprise New York appearance
Madonna has given fans an exciting preview of her upcoming studio album, Confession II, during a surprise appearance at the Tribeca Festival.
The 67-year-old music icon delighted audiences with an unexpected performance in New York City's Times Square on June 5, where she also unveiled a short film teasing her new project.
The visual, described as “a transcendent journey” through a chaotic night out, offered the first glimpse into Confession II, which serves as the follow-up to Madonna’s acclaimed 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Directed by Solomon Chase and David Tori, the film features snippets from several tracks expected to appear on the album, including Read My Lips, One Step Away, Good for the Soul, and Danceteria. It also incorporates the previously released songs Bring Your Love and I Feel So Free.
Throughout the film, Madonna appears in a series of surreal scenes, from sitting alone in a field to navigating an elaborate maze of laser beams. Another sequence shows her inside an apartment as helmeted women carrying video cameras force their way through the door.
The singer has been working on the project for months, building anticipation among fans eager to hear new music from the Queen of Pop.
Confession II, Madonna’s fifteenth studio album, is scheduled for release on July 3, 2026.
