Meghan Markle is reportedly preparing for a major return to the UK, with insiders claiming the Duchess of Sussex sees the visit as the first step in rebuilding her relationship with the British public.
According to royal commentator Rob Shuter, sources close to Meghan have described the upcoming trip as the beginning of what friends are jokingly calling "Operation Meghan" — a long-term effort to reconnect with Britain following years of distance from royal life.
“This is the start of what friends jokingly call ‘Operation Meghan,’” an insider reportedly said. “The family trip isn’t just a visit. It’s the beginning of a carefully considered effort to reconnect.”
The source added that Meghan still remembers feeling welcomed during her early years in the UK and believes that goodwill can be restored over time.
“Meghan remembers feeling embraced by Britain, and she believes that connection can be rebuilt,” the insider claimed. “But it starts with showing up.”
The reports come amid speculation that Meghan and Prince Harry will travel to the UK next month with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. If the visit takes place, it would mark the family's first trip to Britain together since 2022.
The Sussexes last visited the UK with their children during celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, just months before the late monarch's death later that year.
Adding to the speculation, reports suggest King Charles is keen to continue efforts toward reconciliation with his youngest son. According to the Daily Mail, the King is prepared to make time for Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet during their visit.
