Sources suggest the Duke of Sussex believes efforts are being made to further isolate him from influential circles
Prince Harry has reportedly suffered another disappointment amid his ongoing strained relationship with his brother, Prince William.
According to sources cited by royal commentator Rob Shuter in his Naughty But Nice newsletter, the Duke of Sussex is not expected to receive an invitation to the FIFA World Cup Final. Insiders claim one key reason is the strong connection between former football star David Beckham and Prince William.
Beckham is expected to be among the high-profile figures attending the prestigious sporting event, while Harry is unlikely to be present.
One insider claimed the situation goes beyond a simple guest list decision.
“This isn’t about space or numbers,” the source said. “Football made its choice years ago, and that choice was David Beckham.”
The reported snub may be particularly painful for Harry and Meghan Markle, who once enjoyed a close friendship with David and Victoria Beckham. However, that relationship is said to have deteriorated after allegations that the Sussexes suspected the Beckhams of leaking stories to the British media.
According to sources, the accusations caused lasting damage.
“David never got past it,” an insider alleged. “The trust was broken, and there was no way back after that.”
Since then, David and Victoria Beckham have increasingly aligned themselves with William and Catherine. Beckham has publicly supported several of William’s initiatives, while Catherine has frequently been seen wearing designs from Victoria Beckham’s fashion label.
“The Beckhams chose William, and Harry understood what that signaled,” a source claimed. “Their friendship ended a long time ago.”
The latest reports come amid claims that Harry believes William is continuing to distance him from key royal and social circles, reinforcing what he sees as his growing status as an outsider.
