A source claims the monarch hopes to rebuild ties with his son and grandchildren.
King Charles is reportedly determined to repair his relationship with Prince Harry, with new claims suggesting he has offered the Duke of Sussex and his family the option of staying at a royal residence during their expected visit to the UK.
According to reports, the invitation reflects the King's desire to spend more time with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, despite ongoing tensions within the Royal Family.
A source told New Idea that the invitation is motivated less by royal protocol and more by Charles' wish to reconnect with his grandchildren, particularly Princess Lilibet, whom he has reportedly seen only once.
"Charles has had enough of this estrangement," the insider claimed.
"There's not much point in being a king if you can't get what you want, and he's desperate to have a relationship with all of his grandchildren before it's too late," the source added.
The insider also suggested that the King's ongoing cancer treatment has made family reconciliation an even greater priority.
"This reunion carries a lot of emotional weight for Charles and Harry," the source said. "Charles' cancer treatments are ongoing, and he knows the clock is ticking."
According to the report, the King remains committed to making the visit happen despite reported reservations from other members of the Royal Family.
The source claimed that while Prince William is still said to have concerns about rebuilding trust with Harry and Meghan, King Charles is determined to welcome the Sussex family if the visit goes ahead.
