Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Accused of Asking Woman an Intrusive Question at Dinner

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly asked a former country singer a deeply personal question during a dinner gathering, according to claims made in her memoir.

Harriet James, a former member of the country music group Pearl, recalled the encounter in her book, What Harriet Did.

James wrote that she and others were told they had to attend dinner with Andrew, who was staying with mutual friends at the time.

“We were told we had to have dinner with Andrew,” she claimed. “He was staying with friends of ours and we were instructed to dress in black tie, in honour of him being royal and all that.”

However, she said Andrew arrived wearing “jeans and a thick-weave grey cardigan.”

James claimed she was seated directly opposite him at a narrow table, placing them close together during the meal.

According to her account, Andrew opened the conversation by asking: “How many people have you slept with?”

James said she challenged the question and replied: “You can’t ask me that. How many people have you slept with?”

She claimed Andrew appeared shocked by her response and said: “You certainly can’t ask me that.”

Andrew has not publicly responded to James’s account.
