Prince Harry is reportedly preparing to return to the UK later this month with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Behind the scenes, Kate Middleton is said to be encouraging Prince William to take the opportunity to reconnect with his younger brother.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, the Princess of Wales has been urging William to consider meeting Harry, Meghan, and their children during the visit.
"At this time, William is not planning to be there, but things could change," the insider claimed. "Kate has been trying to convince William to meet with Harry, Meghan, and the kids."
The source added that Kate is also eager to spend time with Archie and Lilibet, noting that chances to see them have been extremely rare.
"She is interested in seeing the kids, as well. These opportunities to see Archie and Lilibet haven't happened before, so when they found out they were coming, it was a shock. They are trying to make this work because the opportunities are so limited," the insider said.
While Kate reportedly hopes William will agree to a meeting, she is said to respect whatever decision he ultimately makes.
Another source told the publication that any reconciliation will happen only when William feels ready.
"This is not on William's timeline, it's on Harry's," the insider explained. "They also weren't expecting Harry to come to the U.K. with Meghan and the kids, so he's been hesitant. If he is not ready yet, a reunion won't happen."
Meanwhile, King Charles is reportedly more open to rebuilding family ties and is said to be looking forward to seeing Harry and Meghan.
"The King is realistic about the challenges of rebuilding the relationship and knows it is going to take time," the source said.
According to the insider, Queen Camilla has also supported efforts to improve relations within the family.
"There is definitely excitement, and Charles is also optimistic about this. He's hoping it's the first step toward repairing the relationship between Harry and William, as well," the source added.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to arrive in the UK with their children later this month, making the trip a closely watched moment for the royal family amid ongoing speculation about a possible reconciliation.
