Kate Middleton is reportedly no longer encouraging Prince William to repair his strained relationship with Prince Harry.
According to royal commentators, the Princess of Wales wants to protect her family from further tension involving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. She is said to believe that becoming involved in the ongoing dispute could place unnecessary emotional pressure on William and the wider Wales family.
Christopher Andersen, author of Kate!, told Fox News Digital that Catherine is no longer trying to bring the two brothers back together.
“Kate is no longer in the business of trying to reunite the brothers,” Andersen said. “It really is a year of magical thinking when people seriously suggest that the Princess of Wales has the emotional bandwidth to cope with the Sussexes.”
He added that his sources do not believe Catherine is pushing William to meet with Harry.
Royal photographer Helena Chard expressed a similar view, saying the Princess of Wales is not actively trying to arrange a reconciliation.
“She isn’t pushing for a meeting,” Chard said. “She is, however, the one royal who could soften things emotionally, hence the reason Princess Catherine, ‘the peacemaker,’ keeps rearing her head.”
Chard claimed that the feeling within the Wales camp is that Catherine does not want William or their family drawn back into the public disputes surrounding Harry and Meghan.
“The Sussex circus of briefings, counter-briefings and public spectacle is seen as tiresome and, frankly, not good for the Wales family’s well-being,” she said.
The comments suggest that while Catherine may still be viewed as someone capable of easing tensions, she is currently focused on protecting her family rather than trying to reunite William and Harry.
