King Charles and Prince Harry have been warned that their reported reconciliation efforts could face difficulties if Prince William remains excluded from private discussions.
Royal expert Helena Chard claimed that the King’s dealings with Harry and Meghan Markle should be viewed as “personal family negotiations” rather than talks conducted on behalf of the monarchy.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Chard said the discussions concern Charles’ personal relationship with his younger son and grandchildren.
“He makes his own call on family,” she said.
However, Chard suggested the Prince of Wales would be unhappy about being kept unaware of a private meeting between his father and brother.
“Prince William will not be enamored with the private meeting,” she claimed. “He wants nothing to do with his brother or to be burdened with the Sussex drama, a drama that he will no doubt have to manage one day as monarch.”
The expert warned that excluding William could ultimately do more harm than good to any attempt at restoring peace within the Royal Family.
According to Chard, some observers believe talks involving only Charles and Harry cannot amount to a complete family reconciliation while William remains outside the process.
“Without a full family council, a true family reconciliation may just fizzle out,” she said. “The optics don’t look good for a united family front.”
Chard added that trust within the family is already fragile and could be damaged further if William continues to be left uninformed.
“Trust is already thin, and if William is kept in the dark as Charles takes steps to maintain private family moments with the Sussexes, any future healing may become more difficult,” she warned.
