King Charles Honours Community Champions During Holyroodhouse Investiture Ceremony

King Charles III presented honours to a number of outstanding individuals during an investiture ceremony at Palace of Holyroodhouse as part of his annual visit to Scotland.

The British royal family's official Instagram account shared images from the ceremony, showcasing the monarch as he recognized recipients whose contributions have made a lasting impact on communities across the country.

The palace wrote, "At the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The King has recognised extraordinary people at an Investiture ceremony."

It added, "From the Borders to the Highlands and Islands, His Majesty presented honours to recipients from across Scotland, celebrating their exceptional achievements in fields including public service, charity, business, sports, arts and education. Congratulations to all those who received awards today!"

Investitures are formal ceremonies during which honours are presented on behalf of the monarch to individuals recognized for exceptional achievements in areas such as public service, charity, the arts, science, business, healthcare and education.

The ceremony was held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the monarch's official residence in Edinburgh, during Holyrood Week, also known as Royal Week in Scotland, an annual celebration of the Crown's longstanding ties with the country.
