Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have reportedly spent time with their grandfather, King Charles, following years of limited contact.
According to reports, King Charles and Queen Camilla met Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children at the monarch’s Highgrove estate in western England on Friday.
The gathering was described as a private family occasion, with no photographs, videos or further details expected to be released.
It was reportedly Charles’s first meeting with Archie and Lilibet since 2022. The children have spent much of their lives in California and are believed to have had relatively little time with their grandfather.
Following the reported reunion, childcare specialist and family expert Jo Frost welcomed the development, highlighting the important role grandparents can play in a child’s life.
“Grandparents play an incredibly important role in a child’s life,” Frost said. “They offer children another layer of unconditional love, emotional security, family history, wisdom, patience and understanding, along with a sense of belonging.”
She explained that a close relationship with grandparents can help children understand their family background, strengthen their identity and create meaningful traditions and memories.
Frost, who has worked with families for four decades, added that these relationships can also support a child’s emotional resilience, confidence and overall wellbeing.
Although details of the meeting remain private, the reunion could represent an important step in helping Archie and Lilibet build a stronger connection with their royal relatives and family history.
