Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly facing fresh questions about their relationships with several high-profile friends, with sources claiming the couple has developed a “troubling pattern.”
According to one royal commentator, people often remain fiercely loyal to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex until the relationship suddenly changes.
“People are incredibly loyal to Harry and Meghan, until they aren’t,” the expert claimed.
A person described as a friend of the couple offered a similar account, saying: “The friendship starts strong, something changes, and suddenly they’re out. Elton may be the latest name added to an increasingly long list.”
Royal commentator Rob Shuter suggested that Harry’s recent legal battle became a major source of tension.
“This lawsuit became Harry’s obsession, and not everyone wanted to go down with the ship,” Shuter claimed. “Elton supported him, but support has limits.”
Another source alleged that the financial consequences of the case could place further pressure on Harry.
“Harry simply doesn’t have that cash sitting around,” the source said. “Elton isn’t writing a check for Harry, and no one is rushing to rescue him. This entire case was a colossal miscalculation.”
However, one confidant claimed the financial loss may not be the most damaging consequence. According to the source, losing the trust and loyalty of influential friends could ultimately cost Harry far more.
The comments come after reports that Prince Harry lost a privacy case involving a British tabloid.
Over the years, Meghan and Harry have also reportedly grown distant from several people who were once considered close supporters, including David and Victoria Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, and George and Amal Clooney.
Meghan was also previously known to share a close friendship with stylist Jessica Mulroney, although recent reports have suggested that the two may no longer be on speaking terms.
Neither Meghan nor Harry has publicly addressed the latest claims about their friendships.
