Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children reportedly have little understanding of King Charles’ position as monarch.
Although Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are the King’s grandchildren, a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has claimed that the children do not fully understand their royal background.
Speaking to Hello!, the source said Archie and Lilibet “don’t really have any concept about who they are” because Harry and Meghan have worked hard to give them a normal childhood away from royal attention.
According to the insider, the couple are “very good” at protecting their children from the pressures surrounding the Royal Family, allowing them to live like ordinary young children in California.
Archie and Lilibet are believed to have stayed in contact with their grandfather through occasional video calls. However, their recent visit reportedly marked their first face-to-face meeting with King Charles since they were toddlers.
Details of the private reunion were kept out of the public eye, with no photographs or videos released. The meeting reportedly took place during a busy period of public engagements.
Harry is said to have met the King for around an hour near Highgrove after attending an Invictus-related event in the area.
The family reunion came amid renewed media attention surrounding Harry’s legal battles with the British press, including a court setback connected to historical phone-hacking claims.
