Prince Harry is reportedly feeling the pressure as renewed attention turns to his US immigration records, with more than 300 documents expected to be released by the end of July.
The controversy stems from a legal effort by The Heritage Foundation, which filed a case against the US State Department seeking access to records related to Harry's visa application. The group argued that statements made in his memoir, Spare, in which he admitted to using drugs including cocaine, cannabis, psychedelic mushrooms, ayahuasca and nitrous oxide, raised questions about whether those disclosures were reflected in his immigration paperwork. The legal challenge has been widely reported, including by the BBC.
Now, reports claim the case is entering a new phase, with hundreds of documents expected to become public later this month.
According to New Idea, the uncertainty surrounding the release has left the Duke of Sussex increasingly worried. The magazine cites an unnamed source who claims Harry has already begun pointing the finger at his wife, Meghan Markle.
The insider alleged that Harry believes the situation might never have reached this point if Meghan had agreed to meet Donald Trump during his 2019 state visit to the UK. The source claimed Harry sees that period as "the start of the end," believing it damaged his relationship with Trump while also deepening tensions with the Royal Family.
However, the same source said Meghan rejects that line of thinking and refuses to accept responsibility for what she views as Harry's immigration matter rather than her own.
These claims originate from unnamed sources cited by New Idea and have not been independently verified. Neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly commented on the reported allegations or the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the visa records.
