Prince Harry is said to be struggling with the outcome of his long-running legal battle after a judge dismissed his phone-hacking case, reportedly valued at around AU$96 million.
According to a source who spoke to Woman’s Day, the Duke of Sussex was deeply disappointed by the ruling and had not expected the case to end this way.
The insider claimed Harry had invested years of time, energy and emotion into the legal fight and remained confident that the court would support his position.
“He was not prepared to lose,” the source alleged, adding that Harry is finding it difficult to accept the decision.
The Duke has publicly described the ruling as an “egregious miscarriage of justice,” while reports suggest he could now face a substantial legal bill.
The source claimed the possibility of having to pay millions of pounds has added to Harry’s distress. They also suggested the case had become deeply personal to him and had consumed much of his attention over the past four years.
From Harry’s perspective, the insider said, the legal action was a risk worth taking because he felt strongly about challenging the British press. However, the source claimed the financial consequences could place serious pressure on both Harry and Meghan Markle.
The report went further by suggesting that King Charles could be one of the few people able to help Harry if the costs become overwhelming. However, the source also claimed that asking his father for financial support would be difficult because of Harry’s pride and his strained relationship with the royal family.
According to the insider, any request for help could force the Duke to reconsider the way he approaches his father and other senior royals.
Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan has publicly commented on the claims about their financial position, and the reported comments are based entirely on an anonymous source.
