Prince Harry's reported decision not to bring Meghan Markle and their children to the UK has sparked fresh discussion about the level of security he believes his family requires.
According to journalist Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, friends of the Duke of Sussex say years of legal disputes, family tensions and intense media scrutiny have left Harry increasingly focused on safety.
"Harry sees threats everywhere," one friend reportedly said.
"The court decision didn't just disappoint him. It confirmed what he already believed: that no one else is going to keep his family safe."
The sources claimed Harry's day-to-day life is now shaped by extensive security precautions. They allege that homes and hotel rooms are checked for listening devices before he settles in, while he regularly changes his phone number, limits who can contact him directly and keeps details of his movements restricted to a small group of trusted aides.
Another insider described security as an all-consuming concern.
"Security isn't just a priority anymore. It's an obsession," the source claimed.
According to those close to the Duke, Harry approaches every plan by considering the worst-case scenario, often assuming someone may be watching, listening or tracking his whereabouts.
Friends reportedly believe the combination of family conflict, prolonged legal battles and years of public attention has left Harry in a constant state of heightened vigilance.
"Being careful is understandable, but living as though every day brings a new threat is emotionally exhausting," one source said.
Those close to Harry are said to hope he can eventually find greater peace of mind and feel able to let his guard down after years of living under intense pressure.
