Prince Harry appeared noticeably upbeat before his reported meeting with King Charles following an Invictus Games event in the UK earlier this month.
The Duke of Sussex, who was later reunited with the King at Highgrove alongside Meghan Markle and their two children, seemed excited and in high spirits before the meeting took place.
Speaking on The Royals with Roya and Kate podcast, royal editor Roya Nikkhah said Harry’s demeanour during his appearance in Birmingham stood out.
She explained that Harry appeared especially cheerful and energetic, even by his usual standards at Invictus Games events. According to people who saw him at the venue, he seemed to be “buzzing” as he prepared to travel from the NEC to Warwickshire.
Nikkhah also noted that the meeting was handled differently from some of Harry’s previous encounters with the Royal Family. No details were leaked, and Harry did not make any emotional public comments afterwards.
She suggested that the Duke was genuinely pleased the reunion had taken place despite the long-running tension between him, his father and other members of the Royal Family.
Nikkhah added that the meeting may have been particularly meaningful because it gave Harry an opportunity to reintroduce his children to their grandfather after several years apart.
