Prince William has marked a major milestone for his homelessness initiative, Homewards, as the project continues its mission to tackle homelessness across the UK.
On Tuesday, Kensington Palace shared photos from the Prince of Wales' recent visit to Homewards UK, celebrating the progress made since the initiative was launched.
Reflecting on the anniversary, William said, "Three years ago, Homewards UK set out to prove that homelessness can be made rare, brief and unrepeated."
He went on to highlight the project's achievements, praising the work of its partners, local leaders, businesses and international delegates.
"Hearing how Homewards is embedding prevention across workplaces, schools, housing and local services, and how these early, measurable signs of success, including 73 people moving into stable homes, more than 250 people entering employment, and reaching thousands of people before they reach crisis, can be scaled across the country," the statement read.
Homelessness has long been one of Prince William's key charitable priorities. He launched Homewards in 2023 with the goal of making homelessness "rare, brief and unrepeated" through long-term, community-based solutions.
Earlier this month, the Prince revealed that artificial intelligence is also being used as part of the initiative to identify people who may be at risk of homelessness. The technology is intended to support earlier intervention, helping people remain in stable housing or reducing the time they spend in temporary accommodation or on the streets.
Speaking at London Tech Week, William acknowledged that homelessness might seem like an unexpected topic at a technology conference. However, he said the vast amounts of data managed by technology companies could provide valuable insights to help identify vulnerable individuals sooner and improve support for those most at risk.
