King Charles is said to be growing increasingly determined to repair the rift between his sons, despite reported opposition from Prince William and Queen Camilla.
According to a report by Closer, the King believes bringing Prince Harry back into the family fold is in everyone's best interests. Sources claim he views William's resistance to the idea as "petulant" and "ridiculous."
The publication reports that both Prince William and Queen Camilla remain strongly opposed to any reconciliation, believing it would be a serious mistake. They have reportedly warned the King on multiple occasions that attempting to rebuild trust with Harry and Meghan could end badly, insisting the couple "can't be trusted."
Despite those concerns, an insider claims King Charles has become increasingly emotional about the ongoing divide between his sons.
"From his point of view, far too much time has already been lost," the source said. "There was a period where he accepted that neither side was ready to move forward, but he's now become convinced that if this family is ever going to heal, somebody has to step in."
