Prince William issued a personal message of support after England secured a dramatic win over Mexico to reach the World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
The Three Lions celebrated the victory on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “A tie that had absolutely everything. A win that means absolutely everything.

William, who is President of the FA, reacted shortly after England’s 3-2 win in front of a lively crowd at the Azteca Stadium.
“Well done England!” the Prince of Wales wrote.
He added: “Bring on the quarter final!” alongside an England flag emoji.
William signed off the message with “W”, indicating that he had written the post himself.
The Prince’s message came just hours after Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry would not be staying at the royal residence during his visit to Britain this week. The clarification followed claims from Harry’s spokesperson that the Duke of Sussex had accepted an invitation from King Charles to stay there.
Harry is expected to arrive in London alone, after deciding that Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would not accompany him on the trip.
According to palace sources, Harry initially declined the offer to stay at the Palace before later accepting it on Saturday.
