Buckingham Palace has denied reports that Prince Harry will stay at the royal residence during his visit to London on Monday, despite earlier claims from the Duke of Sussex’s team that he had accepted an invitation to stay there.
Harry is travelling to the UK for an event marking the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The Palace’s denial comes after Prince Harry’s spokesperson told media outlets that the Duke had formally accepted a royal invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during the trip.
According to Sky News, Buckingham Palace denied that Harry would be staying at the residence, citing a missed deadline. However, Harry’s representatives have maintained that the invitation was withdrawn after it had already been accepted.

Prince Harry is NOT staying at Buckingham Palace during his trip to the UK this week, despite reports.
He did accept - but it came too late and his request couldn’t be facilitated or staffed. The offer remains open for future visits.
Following the reported withdrawal, Harry’s spokesperson said: “Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday. It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment.”
The issue comes after RAVEC’s decision to deny taxpayer-funded police protection for Harry and his family. The Duke is said to have spent last week arranging private security before accepting the Palace’s accommodation offer.
Meghan Markle and the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are not expected to join Harry in London because of ongoing security concerns. However, there remains a slim possibility that they could join him later in the week in Birmingham.
