Prince Harry has accepted a royal invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during his visit to the UK this week.
A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex confirmed the arrangement ahead of Harry’s expected arrival in London on Monday. He is travelling without Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The family’s absence is understood to be linked to ongoing concerns over security. Harry has previously raised concerns about bringing his family to the UK without taxpayer-funded police protection, arguing that it would not be safe for them to visit without proper security in place.
Although the London part of the trip is expected to be a solo visit, there is still a small chance Meghan and the children could join him later in the week for events in Birmingham connected to the Invictus Games.
Despite Harry accepting the invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace, it is still unclear whether he will meet King Charles during the visit. Any possible meeting between father and son would likely draw significant public attention, given the ongoing distance between the Duke and the royal family.
During his time in the UK, Prince Harry is scheduled to attend events at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham and take part in an Invictus Games Foundation event at Chatham House.
As patron of WellChild, he is also expected to visit Birmingham Children’s Hospital to mark the 20th anniversary of the first WellChild Nurse.
This visit marks one of Harry’s most notable trips to the UK since 2022, when he and Meghan attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
