Prince Harry was reportedly not offered accommodation at a royal residence during his latest trip to Britain because of concerns over Palace staff morale.
According to an insider quoted by Naughty But Nice, King Charles’ main concern was not logistics but the reaction of royal employees, some of whom allegedly remain upset over Harry’s public comments about the Royal Family.
“Many employees feel deeply hurt by what Harry has said about the Royal Family,” the source claimed, adding that staff members are fiercely loyal to the institution and may have felt uncomfortable welcoming him back.
Another insider said the Royal Household is already struggling to recruit and retain experienced employees, making it important for the King to avoid further tension.
“The King wasn’t just thinking about Harry,” the source explained. “He was thinking about the people who keep the monarchy running every day.”
Harry travelled to the UK last week to promote the Invictus Games, which are due to be held in Birmingham next year.
He was later joined by Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The family reportedly met King Charles and Queen Camilla privately at Highgrove House on Friday, July 10.
