Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly preparing to return to the UK with their two children later this month.
The development comes more than a year after Harry spoke openly about wanting to repair his relationship with the Royal Family following the loss of his legal challenge over his UK security arrangements in May 2025.
During an interview with the BBC, the Duke of Sussex said he “would love a reconciliation” with his family and no longer wanted to continue fighting.
Harry also claimed that King Charles would not speak to him because of the security dispute. Referring to his father’s cancer diagnosis, he added that he did “not know how much longer my father has.”
Since making those remarks, Harry has reportedly met the King twice during visits to the UK. Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were also said to have attended his most recent meeting with the monarch.
Now, just days after returning to the United States, the Sussexes are reportedly making plans to move from California to a location outside London for an extended stay. Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, are also expected to attend school in Britain.
According to media reports, Charles welcomed the prospect of having his younger son and closer grandchildren, although he reportedly learned about the family’s plans only on Sunday.
The exact reason for the Sussexes’ return remains unclear. However, some observers have connected the decision to Harry’s emotional comments about his father’s health and his publicly expressed desire for reconciliation.
Whether the move signals a lasting improvement in Harry’s relationship with the Royal Family remains to be seen.
