King Charles has achieved his highest approval rating since taking the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
With the fourth anniversary of his accession approaching, 68 per cent of the British public believe the monarch is performing well in his role, according to data from YouGov’s royal family tracker.
The figure has increased by six percentage points since the spring, GB News reported.
The rise comes despite continued criticism of the monarchy from campaign group Republic, particularly over Prince Andrew’s association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
However, the controversy surrounding the King’s brother appears to have had little effect on public perceptions of Charles.
Only 16 per cent of respondents now believe the King is performing badly, a fall of four points and the equivalent of roughly one in six British adults.
The findings suggest Charles has maintained a strong level of public support. His personal favourability rating has remained between 59 and 63 per cent over the past two years.
At present, 62 per cent of the public hold a positive opinion of the King, while 31 per cent view him unfavourably.
Prince William and Kate Middleton remain the most popular senior members of the royal family, with around three-quarters of the British public holding a favourable view of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
