Martha Stewart has shared details of a recent dinner party where she crossed paths with Meghan Markle shortly after the Duchess of Sussex returned from a visit with the royal family.
In an interview with People, Stewart, 85, said she exchanged only a few words with Meghan at the California gathering. However, she claimed the duchess discussed the royal visit with other guests.
“I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it,” Stewart said.
The dinner party’s host has since disputed Stewart’s version of events. Speaking to Page Six, the unnamed host said they sat beside Meghan throughout the evening and insisted that she did not share details about the family reunion.
“I sat next to Meghan at the dinner party and this account of what happened is simply untrue,” the host said. “Meghan didn’t talk about her European vacation other than to say the family had a great time.”
No further details about the private gathering were disclosed.
Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly traveled to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House on July 10.
The meeting was said to be the Sussex family’s first reunion with the King in four years. Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment, had reportedly not seen Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
