Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s strained relationship with the royal family may now be affecting their professional prospects, according to a royal expert.
Speaking to Page Six, Kinsey Schofield suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to “get out of the way” and allow experienced professionals to take the lead on projects rather than trying to control every decision.
She also argued that the couple should pursue projects that are not built around their grievances with the royal family.
“There are only so many times you can tell audiences why you left the royal family,” Schofield said.
“If they want longevity in entertainment, they have to prove people are interested in their taste, ideas and storytelling when the monarchy isn’t the hook.”
Schofield also questioned the timing of what she described as renewed attempts to repair relations with King Charles.
“I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’re seeing renewed efforts toward reconciliation with King Charles at a moment when Harry and Meghan need to rebuild their credibility,” she added.
“I suspect that they understand that their fractured relationship with the royal family has become a professional liability.”
