Meghan Markle has reportedly attempted to contact Martha Stewart directly following disputed claims about a recent dinner party attended by both women.
Royal and Hollywood commentator Rob Shuter made the claim in his latest Naughty But Nice Substack post, saying the Duchess of Sussex hopes to resolve the matter privately before it escalates.
The controversy began after Martha told People magazine that she had recently attended a dinner party with Meghan in California. According to Martha, the Duchess had just returned from a visit to the palace and appeared to be discussing the trip with other guests.
“I had dinner with Meghan Markle the other night. We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace,” Martha said.
“I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it.”
However, the host of the dinner reportedly challenged that account, calling it “simply untrue.” The host insisted that Meghan did not share details about her European visit and said only that “the family had a great time.”
Martha was also reportedly described as “confused” following her comments.
Amid the growing attention surrounding the disagreement, Shuter claimed Meghan is now hoping to speak with Martha directly and clear up any misunderstanding.
“I’m told Meghan has tried to reach Martha directly,” he wrote.
“Meghan would rather talk to Martha directly than let this become a bigger thing,” an insider told the commentator. “She wants to clear the air and doesn’t want this hanging over them.”
The reported dispute comes as Meghan and Prince Harry are said to be working to rebuild trust with King Charles and the wider Royal Family.
Reports have suggested that the Sussexes agreed not to disclose details of their meeting with the monarch. The couple are reportedly eager to repair relations after speaking publicly about their experiences within the Royal Family in recent years.
