Prince Harry reportedly hopes to spend more time in the UK, but Meghan Markle is said to have little interest in returning on a permanent basis.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to be discussing an arrangement that would allow Harry to make more frequent trips to his home country while Meghan continues building her lifestyle brand in California.
A source told Heat World that Harry would ideally like to divide his time between the US and Britain, with the possibility of taking on a limited royal role again.
“Harry dreams of a compromise where he can come back to the UK more often, potentially as a part-time working royal again,” the insider claimed.
Although Harry would reportedly like Meghan to accompany him, the source said she remains firmly opposed to moving back, even for part of the year.
“He’d love Meghan to join him, but there’s no way she’d move back, even part time,” the insider added. “She feels there’s too much open hostility towards her.”
The couple are now said to be considering a more flexible arrangement under which Meghan would join Harry in Britain only when she felt comfortable doing so.
“They’re figuring out an agreement where Meghan accompanies him when it suits her,” the source explained. “She’s very independent, so she’s leaving it up to Harry to navigate it.”
However, the insider suggested that finding a solution may prove difficult unless one of them is willing to make a significant compromise.
“The feeling is it’s very much a make-or-break situation,” the source claimed. “Unless someone is compromised, it will be difficult to see how this pact could work out between them.”
