Prince William is reportedly not ready to put his long-running feud with Prince Harry behind him.
According to royal sources, the Prince of Wales has “no interest at all” in speaking with his younger brother, despite Harry’s recent visit to the UK with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The Sussex family met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House on July 10. However, William and Kate Middleton were not part of the gathering, adding to speculation that tensions between the brothers remain unresolved.
Bronte Coy, senior royal correspondent for news.com.au, said the trip appeared to be marked by ongoing complications.
“Anyone who has watched it all unfold would have to agree it was an absolute circus at times,” he said, referring to the ongoing discussions around security and accommodation.
Coy noted that the meeting with King Charles was one of the key aims of Harry’s visit, but said the wider situation became increasingly difficult.
Reports have also suggested that Harry and Meghan had hoped for an apology from members of the royal family. However, Coy claimed that any expectation of a public apology has likely now been abandoned.
“I think that potentially that idea of a big public apology has been dropped, because it’s obviously not going to happen,” he said.
While there has been talk of the Sussexes wanting a more settled relationship with the monarchy, William is believed to remain unwilling to reopen communication with Harry for now.
