Kensington Palace shares update on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s latest visit

Prince William and Kate Middleton joined forces to support an important cause during a visit to Liverpool.

Marking World Suicide Prevention Day on Thursday, the Prince and Princess of Wales encouraged people to speak openly about mental health and seek help when needed.

The couple visited Everton Football Club’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, where they launched On Your Side: A Suicide Prevention Toolkit for People in Sport.

Sharing photos from the engagement on Instagram, the couple’s official account wrote: “Introducing On Your Side: A Suicide Prevention Toolkit for People in Sport.”

The post explained that The Royal Foundation developed the resource in partnership with the British Standards Institution and mental health charity Chasing the Stigma.

According to the palace, the toolkit is designed to help people across the sporting community recognize warning signs, begin difficult conversations and connect someone with professional support before they reach a crisis. It can be used at every level, from local clubs to elite teams.

Kate attended the event in a striking blue pantsuit, while William wore a navy suit.

Suicide prevention and mental health awareness have long been important parts of William’s public work. During his speech, the future King stressed that a friend, teammate, coach or colleague may be the first person to notice when someone is struggling.
